Gilah Yelin Hirsch is a multidisciplinary artist, theorist, facilitator, and Professor of Art at California State University, Dominguez Hills (Los Angeles). Her artwork and theoretical writings address issues in the fields of art, films, architecture, theology, philosophy, cross-cultural medicine and psychiatry, psychoneuroimmunology, philosophy, anthropology of consciousness, science of consciousness, and world culture. Hirsch’s paintings and photographs have been widely exhibited within the United States and internationally. They have been acquired by major public and private collections, and they have appeared in dozens of journals, magazines, and books.

Her video, "Cosmography: The Writing of the Universe", an investigation into the relation between origin of alphabet, pattern in nature and the neurology of perception and cognition, has received wide interdisciplinary notice. Since 1982, Hirsch has been a core member and frequent presenter at The Council Grove Conferences of The Menninger and Life Science Foundations of Kansas. Based in Venice, California, she travels frequently and extensively in the United States, Canada, Central America, Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.
